KGW - The Circles of Country's Housewives
The Circles of Country's Housewives in Poland except Farmers Circles are the oldest
organisations which work for such a long time at a stretch in Europe.
Nobody except Polish people can boast of something like this.
|
|
These Circles was founded in 1868 year so 135 years ago just after started activity by
Farmers Circles as individually initiative of Polish countrywomen.
Today you can see old memorial books which show non-profit activity of this organisation
in the time of Polish Break, I and II World War, the time between I and II world Wars and the times
after II World War and this difficult time of political transformation just after 1989 year.
|
What was the idea of activity of this organisation? Any possible. Women organised
the courses of sewing, cooking, baking and roasting. They took care about old Polish tradition,
gathered flowers, helped to organise schools on Polish country, voluntary fire brigades,
was very important in the times of polish country evolution, they showed how to take care of homes,
they taught common help, helped people who were in difficult situation on health or finances.
They arranged festivals and folk spectacles. They were the "motor power" of folk art climate
which we can observe on painted houses, on decorations of old homes, by straw decorations
or another decorations of country products.

|
Unfortunately today after so long years we can observe, regarding this organisation,
vision of slow death. We speak a lot of problems connected with Poland's integration with European
Union structures such as possibilities of losing national culture sovereign. But by all this time
exactly we - Polish people are responsible for this - nobody else. We forget
about our history. Do we shame of it? We don't remember many facts such as the history of
The Circles of Country Housewives. We can observe untrue myth of communistic origin of this organisation
and we turn over of it.
For the new generation the lifestyle is fast and not healthy at all.
It is still time to come back to the right way. Time to renovate Polish culture and traditions.
Time to "reverse time".
|
Exactly this, my dear Polish people, can be a key of Polish success after European Integration,
for example in tourism. Poland have thinks witch are absent in Western Europe. Let's praise of it.
Let's show a new face of tourism in such topic as: active leisure connected with returning to the
human sources and restoring the time. Tourism which will show traditions of Polish regional
food. We have 200 years old recipes, legends, recipes for delicious 100% natural and ecological
cakes or dishes. Let's start again promoting our local traditions, folk - let's share our
National Inheritance. I am sure that if we will do this, many European Union countries
will be jealous about it.
